This 45-minute webinar is based on actual events that happened last fall at East Texas Medical Center in Athens, Texas. In October, ETMC Athens experienced a 42% spike in Emergency Department volume, due to publicity of the H1N1 virus. The hospital was near the epicenter of the pandemic, where other area hospitals were setting up tents in their parking lots to handle the overflow. In contrast, ETMC Athens was able to comfortably absorb the extra volume and improve overall quality of care at the same time. In this webinar, Brodeur explains what the hospital staff did to accomplish that and shows how the process evolved through a series of charts pulled from hospital data
