WHO WE ARE
Compirion Healthcare Solutions is truly unique among hospital consulting firms - first, for our behavioral approach, second, for our willingness to put our entire fee on the line by providing a money-back guarantee, and most importantly, for the outstanding rate of improvement at our client-hospitals.
Which disciplines do we follow?
Instead of a 'cookie cutter approach,' Compirion's team of experienced clinicians work with your hospital's resources, on site, using a multi-disciplinary approach, to develop customized answers that fit the needs of your hospital.
"Compirion was chosen for their unique multi-disciplinary approach to their methodology, and because they were very hands-on."
~ Mary Kay Gardenier, Senior Vice President of Operations at Southern Regional Medical Center, Atlanta, GA
"What I liked about Compirion was that they didn't bring a 'book of solutions'...they used the resources of the hospital, specifically the front line managers, to come up with customized answers to fit Jefferson's needs."
~ Jerome Ladous, VP of Operations, Jefferson Memorial Hospital, St Louis , MO
How do we implement change?
Compirion takes a very measured approach to observe staff and reveal issues. We begin by examining staff behavior and the day-to-day processes in the ED care continuum. We work together with all levels of management, hospital staff and physicians to set performance goals, identify pilot initiatives and build core teams.
Compirion uses positive feedback to implement behavioral change. We work with staff to set standards and means of accountability. We initially gain trust with small "big" wins. It is our experience that once staff starts to see improvements on the front end they are able to "dig in on the harder ones."
"They embedded themselves in the ED environment and observed. They defined those changes that would have the greatest impact and built teams from the ED staff to carry them out."
~ Brenda Kuhn, Chief Nursing Officer, Vice President for Patient Care, Grandview Hospital, Dayton, OH
"They were able to get contributions from the hospital staff in the form of ideas, provide idea implementation and keep everyone on task. Their ability to bring consistency and accountability is what made the project work."
~ Ben Warner, Vice President of Nursing at Henrico Doctor's Hospital
What tools do we use?
Accountability is the biggest tool in our box. We set up processes where issues are heard, solutions are determined, responsibility is assigned and follow-through is assured.
Some of Compirion's custom-built tools used to aid in the daily, real-time management of patients include: charge nurse daily check list, rounding monitor, metrics dashboard, daily dot-and-plots, patient snapshot from triage, and shift management report. A constant process of piloting, implementing and evaluating is part of the daily regimen.
"Their observation process proved to be a fabulous tool that I now use all the time. I used it to move the whole house forward."
~ Michele Pierski, Director of Cath Lab/ARU, Baxter Regional Hospital, Mountain Home, AR"
How long before we produce results?
Other consulting firms claim to produce results in as little as 6-12 months. The seasoned professionals at Compirion produce true rapid cycle improvement in 3-6 weeks with targets met in 3-6 months. Many projects become self-funding at the 3-month milestone.
As part of our Sustainable Results Program, the Compirion team returns to the hospital twice during the year at no charge to check on your team's progress and to provide insight and feedback.
"The 'Wow' moment was the shift in viewpoint of the staff and physicians."
~ Vicki McElfresh, Charge Nurse, ED, Grandview Hospital, Dayton, OH
"They promised they would help us hit the target in six months and they did. Their unique behaviorally focused methodology changed the culture in the Emergency Department. The physician we almost lost says he now looks forward to coming to work every day.""
~ Brenda Kuhn, Chief Nursing Officer at Grandview Hospital, Dayton, OH
"We saw a cultural change in the ED. As the staff and physicians began understanding the importance of change process, they became more involved in the department. The changes the team developed made our work easier and the result was better patient care.
~ Dr. Charles McIntosh, ED Medical Director at Grandview Hospital, Dayton, OH
How do we improve your financials?
Unlike other consulting firms, Compirion believes in reducing operating costs through strategic marketing growth, improved staff productivity and attrition, not layoffs. New revenue is generated through increasing billable patient volume, and lost revenue is recovered through improved co-pay collections and Medicare reimbursements.
"Revenues went through the roof making Administration very happy! And, things continue to improve. We are currently two million dollars more to the positive this month vs. the same month this quarter last year. We expect to finish $20-$24 million more this year over last. I'd say we got our money's worth."
~ Dr. DeLanor Doyle, Medical Director of the Emergency Department at Medical Center of Central Georgia, Atlanta
What are our fees?
Compirion charges a weekly fee that includes all expenses. There are no hidden costs or up front deposits. We guarantee a maximum out-of-pocket and the ability to cancel the contract at any time. A sample contract is available upon request.
"Compirion was awarded the contract because they looked different from every other consulting group I had seen....they presented a total package for a lump sum (of money), with goals that were agreed upon beforehand...and they had the same goals we did."
~ Ron Peterson, CEO at Baxter Regional Medical Cente, Dayton, OH
What do we guarantee?
Compirion guarantees results with their entire project fee, including expenses. If you are not completely satisfied that we met the agreed upon goals within the allotted timeframe, we will refund your entire fee.
"Compirion was chosen for their willingness to be at risk and to work under hospital direction as part of the team."
~ Jerome Ladous, Vice President of Operations at Jefferson Memorial Hospital, St. Louis, MO
"Their unique methodology is behaviorally-focused and resulted in facilitating change in hospital leadership which had the greatest impact of all."
~ Mary Kay Gardenier, Senior Vice President of Operations at Southern Regional Medical Center, Atlanta, GA
